Creator: Ben Bocquelet
Directors: Ben Bocquelet & Mic Graves (Cartoon Network Development Studios Europe Ltd)

I started working on this show in the end of 2011 as a clean-up and in-between animator and assisting supervisor at Studio Soi in Ludwigsburg, Germany. Then continued as a senior key animator at Great Marlborough Productions (now Hanna Barbera Studios Europe Ltd) in London for a few more years. In total I spent thousands of hours animating on seasons 2-5 (and a little bit on season 6) of the series. The series is among the most popular Cartoon Network series worldwide and won numerous awards.

A couple of acting examples of scenes that I enjoyed animating. The one with Gumball spitting wasn’t in the final episode, so I assume it’s been edited out for its grossness. I take that as a compliment for my animation.

In key animation we had to figure out an economic way to animate in Flash, using the advantages of the software to work with symbols (as in cutout animation) while combining it with elements of traditional 2D animation (as in cel-animation or frame-by-frame animation), to make the needed
variations from the standard puppet that the respective shot required.

Have fun scrolling through a random collection of GIFs! :D

My Clean-Up and In-Between Animation Showreel from season 2 back in 2012, all work
done at Studio Soi in Ludwigsburg, Germany. We were also in charge of all lipsync animation.
